Mike Scheidt from YOB is readying an upcoming solo set, titled Stay Awake, for Thrill Jockey Records.  The disc, which arrives June 12, reportedly takes influence from country and rock acts like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Merle Travis, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Directly before and after their previously announced dates with Tool, YOB will play their own headline shows. Intronaut have officially confirmed that they will be opening for Tool on the first half of the latter’s early 2012 tour. It appears as though Tool‘s forthcoming 2012 tour may have different opening acts on select legs of the trek. Brooklynvegan.com are reporting that YOB will open the bill on dates ranging from January 28 through to February 8.

Yob and Dark Castle have announced an extensive summer tour. Yob has been in the studio as-of-late tracking material for their next album. Recording is taking place at Dogwood Studios in Elmira, OR with producer Jeff Olsen at the helm. A late-summer release via Profound Lore Records is planned. “Extensive touring” in support of the new album is also being scheduled.

Neurosis are readying a reissue of their 1993 offering Souls At Zero for an early 2011 release date through their own Neurot Recordings label. Neurosis have also confirmed some live shows as well.
