British doom metal band Electric Wizard will release its long-awaited new album Black Masses in North America on January 18, 2011 via Rise Above Records. It was recorded with Grammy Award-winning British recording engineer Liam Watson (The White Stripes) in London’s Toe Rag Studios.

Crippled Black Phoenix, featuring Dominic of Mogwai and Justin of Electric Wizard will be at the Ravari Room on April 4 with Ascent of Everest. There is a $10 cover.
Crippled Black Phoenix, the UK doom-folk collective, originally conceived by Mogwai bassist Dominic Aitchison and Justin Greaves of Electric Wizard and Iron Monkey, will deliver two LPs, The Resurrectionists and Night Raider, in 2009.
